Isn’t it nice to be here?
Hello! My name is Szymon, I live in Gdańsk, Poland. I explore human psychology using engineering principles. I lead teams, develop software, and coach.
My approach may look like “reverse engineering” human psychology and aligns with Lord Kelvin, who supposedly said: “I am never content until I have constructed a mechanical model of the subject I am studying. If I succeed in making one, I understand; otherwise, I do not.“
Although I have always been interested in psychology, my professional career transitioned from programming to programming AI, from programming AI to studying the human mind, and from studying the human mind to… hacking the mind’s programming. I see this as a way to enable the transformation that allows us to grow.
I first turned to technology to model the human mind when I was in secondary school and released my first program in 1996. I developed several completely different versions of an intelligent dialogue system that demonstrated how various theories on communication, understanding, and thinking work in reality. These experiments were my early source of understanding and shaped my future career.
Since my work was within the Natural Language Processing (NLP) domain and, to some extent, pioneering, it made me part of the prominent AI software industry. I was fortunate to work on state-of-the-art data and AI technologies, including chatbots, automatic speech recognition, and data analytics. I enjoyed working in startups (including my own), scaleups, and corporate environments, and I collaborated with many cultures across Europe and around the globe. Although technology has driven my career, my primary motivation remains human, even though I apply an engineering approach.
In 2024, I completed “Coaching Academy” postgraduate studies and began offering coaching services – both online and in person. To accompany my learning and support my coaching, I developed the MamZen.app tool, which simulates the Wheel of Life coaching exercise – you may try it, it’s free.
Currently, I work with data and AI as an Engineering Manager, and I continue to grow my leadership and psychological competence through formal courses and studies. I also explore computer models and simulations that could help us realize our beliefs and understand the consequences they have in our lives.
